The Effect of Living Custom of Health, Excercise, etc. on the Health 1. A Study on Nutrient Intake

Abstract
This study was carried out to investigate the nutritional status and the effect of living custom on health in 195 subjects who are from 40s to 60s in age in Chonju. the average height and body weight were similar to Korean standard. The mean daily energy and protein intake were 86.9%-123.3% and 110%-130% of RDA, respectively. Compared with allowance, Ca intake was below in men of fifties and in men and women of sixties, and Fe intake was below RDA only in women of forties. Intake of Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Niacin and Vitamin C was sufficient in all ages and sex, but Vitamin B1were insufficient for RDA¡¯s except for women of forties. The composition of carbohydrate, fat and protein for total energy intake was 63-70.8%, 11.9-15% and 14.8-15.8%, respectively. The intake of fat, Ca, Vitamin B1, etc. Increased according to scholarship and fat, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1 according to income. The group that had breakfast always was higher in protein(p<0.001), energy, iron, Vitamin c, etc. than have not breakfast(p<0.05). Those rarely had snack were low in animal protein and Vitamin C than those who had it twice or thrice a week. The group that had drinking was lower in animal protein intake(p<0.05) than had not drinking and intake of Vitamin C decreased according to smoking(p<0.05).
